About The Position

This role is responsible for maintaining and repairing all mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment within the plant. This includes the installation of new or modified equipment, troubleshooting various systems, and ensuring plant facilities meet safety requirements. The position also involves performing mechanical preventive maintenance, managing parts supply, and assisting other trades. Additionally, the role requires performing construction, pipe-fitting, and welding tasks, as well as maintaining a clean and orderly work area and adhering to safety rules. The job involves working in machinery pits, high conveyor areas, and in intense heat within the casting area. Essential duties include inspecting, repairing, and overhauling mechanical drives/motors, pneumatic and hydraulic components, motor control centers, and conveyor systems. Basic machine shop duties such as grinding, drilling, metal fabrication, welding, and machining are also part of the role. The electrician will conduct basic installation, maintenance, and modification on equipment and control systems, and perform troubleshooting and repair of motor control centers, electro-mechanical drives, and sub-electrical panels using diagnostic tools. The position requires availability for rotating on-call duty during weekends for emergency situations and conducting electrical repairs using 3-phase electricity.

Requirements

  • Be able to read blueprints, hydraulic and pneumatic schematic circuits.
  • Be able to do pipefitting and layout work along with light construction and welding.
  • Available for rotating on call duty during weekends to address emergencies.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair all mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
  • Installation of new or modified equipment.
  • Trouble-shoot all mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Maintain plant facilities as to safety requirements.
  • Perform mechanical preventive maintenance of all equipment as assigned.
  • Maintain parts supply for use in equipment.
  • Assist other trades in repairing, installing and trouble-shooting plant equipment.
  • Perform needed construction and pipe-fitting-welding.
  • Keep assigned machinery and work area neat, clean and orderly.
  • Follow safety and shop rules.
  • Inspects, repairs and performs overhauls on mechanical drives/motors, motors, pneumatic and hydraulic components, motor control center devices, and conveyor systems.
  • Performs basic machine shop duties such as grinding, drilling, metal fabrication, welding and machining.
  • Conducts basic installation, maintenance, and modification on equipment and control systems.
  • Performs troubleshooting and repair of motor control centers, electro-mechanical drives and sub-electrical panels using volt-ohm-amp meters.
  • Conducting electrical repairs using 3 phase electricity.
