Responsible for preventative maintenance, layout, installation, and repair of all electrical equipment and machinery in the facility including motors, generators, transformers, controls, timing devices, VFD's, cabling, and conduits including connections to any new or existing machines or electrical equipment. Essential Functions: General maintenance with heightened focus on electrical repair needs. Repair circuit breakers, replace old switches, track down electrical shorts and generally ensure electrical systems are working safely. Inspect and test electrical systems and recommend fixes or replacement strategies. Perform routine preventative maintenance procedures per schedule. Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams and machinery manuals to diagnose problems, identify parts, and learn proper equipment operation. Handle electrical issues throughout the facility. Replace breakers, fuses, wire motors, and contractors. Partner with local utilities, inspectors, and vendors. Follow all lock out/tag out processes and disconnects on equipment. Locate parts in manual and request as needed for service and/or repair. Actively seek to find problems to assigned area and correct before the problem(s) become critical. Communicate conditions of equipment by completing appropriate maintenance records and sharing with incoming maintenance personnel. Cooperate with all manufacturing personnel.
