About The Position

Responsible for performing diversified installation and repair operations as assigned to maintain the physical plant machinery, equipment, and auxiliaries in proper operating condition. This role involves working from drawings, sketches, machine operation/maintenance manuals, and oral instructions to install, adjust, repair, and perform general maintenance duties. The electrician will dismantle units, repair or replace defective parts, reassemble, and test equipment. They will also be responsible for moving, rigging, leveling, aligning, and securing machines and equipment, as well as installing various attachments. This position may require working above floor heights and performing ordinary plumbing, pipe fitting, carpentry, masonry, welding, and brazing as needed for maintenance. A key aspect of the role is performing preventative maintenance, detecting and diagnosing malfunctions, and maintaining a neat and orderly work area and equipment.

Requirements

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Ability to lift parts weighing up to 50 lbs without assistance; team lift required for parts over 50 lbs.
Basic blueprint reading skills to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Basic math skills including addition/subtraction of fractions and decimal values.
Ability to read measuring instruments including tape measure, thickness gage, micrometers, and calipers.
Electrical Maintenance Certification or equivalent experience.
Ability to perform analytical troubleshooting.
Ability to perform complex electrical installation, repair, and assembly of electronic equipment, PLC Programming control panels, and wiring.

Nice To Haves

Five or more years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience in pneumatics and hydraulic machine repair.
Experience in Total Production Maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
Hazardous Waste Handler Awareness and satellite accumulation knowledge (including but not limited to) caps, labelling, dating.
Experience periodically removing satellite waste containers and delivering to less than central accumulation area.
Annual RCRA Training including Emergency Coordinator (secondary) refresher, Contingency Plan training, RCR hazardous waste training.

Responsibilities

Install, adjust, repair, and perform general maintenance duties on physical plant machinery, equipment, and auxiliaries.
Dismantle units, repair/replace defective parts, reassemble, and prove out equipment.
Adjust or repair a broad range of machine tools and related equipment.
Move, rig, level, align, and secure machines, equipment, and auxiliaries.
Install various attachments such as pumps, ducts, motors, tanks, guards, and brackets.
Cut, bend, and thread pipe for tubing; hang pipe, string up wire and cable.
Perform ordinary plumbing and pipe fitting to maintain air, water, oil, and steam lines.
Perform ordinary carpentry and masonry operations as required.
Perform ordinary arc and oxyacetylene welding and brazing related to maintenance.
Perform preventative maintenance as needed and directed by the Maintenance Manager.
Detect faulty operations, diagnose malfunctions, and provide remedy or report to the proper supervisor.
Maintain equipment and workplace in a neat and orderly condition.
Periodically inspect conditions of plant operating machines and equipment for preventative maintenance.
Use measuring and testing instruments such as ohm meter and amp meter.
Handle hazardous waste as a handler awareness and satellite accumulator, including caps, labeling, dating, and removing waste containers.
Participate in annual RCRA Training, including Emergency Coordinator refresher, Contingency Plan training, and hazardous waste training.
