About The Position

The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for electrical troubleshooting and repairs of all plant equipment and production machinery. Must be self-motivated, have the ability to trouble shoot, diagnose, and resolve issues in a production Casting and Machining environment. Candidate will also be expected to perform Preventative/predictive maintenance and conform to all OSHA and Linamar LMP standards.

Requirements

  • High School graduation or equivalent
  • Journeyman Electrical license or minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the electrical field
  • Specialized Electrical coursework
  • Working knowledge of NEC and NFPA 70 E requirements
  • Working knowledge of machinery rigging
  • Working knowledge of gearbox and spindle repair
  • Must be able to read blueprints
  • Must be able to repair and troubleshoot industrial machinery including: CNC machining centers rotary dials stand-alone machines casting machines finishing cells assembly equipment
  • Must be able to understand and troubleshoot: operator interface terminals AC and DC servo systems VFD’s PLC’s power supplies
  • Lock out/Tag out procedures
  • Confine space entry

  • Basic electrical knowledge
  • Basic math knowledge
  • Must always work with a high degree of accuracy
  • Possess knowledge of high voltage applications
  • Ability to read electrical drawings, schematics, ladder logic.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, problem solve, repair and maintain electrical equipment promptly.
  • Locate and replace faulty electrical components
  • Complete electrical upgrades and new install projects.
  • Support on continuous improvement
  • Maintenance of plant lighting and electrical components of plant systems
  • Disassembly, repair and reassembly of all plant and production machinery
  • Perform, analyze, and interpret various types of test equipment
  • Work with production personnel to develop solutions to quality issues, as well as, continuous improvement projects
  • Ability to wire panels, run conduit, trace wiring, isolate electrical components
  • Responsible for electrical cabinet organization/cleanliness and wire tag legibility.
  • Perform plant 480v electrical Thermography and document recommendation to correct findings.
  • Attend seminars as required to enhance job knowledge
  • Maintain and repair facility equipment as directed by maintenance supervision
