About The Position

Boeing Defense is looking for a Maintenance Electrician A to support the Ridley Park, PA location. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. Candidate must be able to work any shift. This is an Hourly position governed by the UAW Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Requirements

  • Must be a UAW Member
  • Must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • 3+ years of electronic/electrical experience in any of the following fields: machine tool maintenance, industrial electronic and/or electrical maintenance field, or military electronic/electrical system maintenance.
  • 3+ years of National Electrical Code (NEC) experience.

Responsibilities

  • Layout, assembles, install, test, troubleshoot and repair electrical systems in an industrial plant.
  • Use blueprints and knowledge of trade practice to determine routing of wires and conduit, location of such typical units as switches, outlets, junction boxes, transformers in conformance with underwriters’ specifications, Commonwealth and municipal ordinances and codes.
  • Complete and/or process paper work pertinent to equipment records and maintenance.
  • Make installations and any needed repair work by performing such typical work as cutting, bending, threading, conduit; selecting, cutting, stripping, wiring, installing and connecting wires.
  • Install, test, and trouble-shoot such typical equipment on medium and high voltage equipment, gear, motor control centers, motors, transformers, elevators, cranes, electronic instruments, relays, and or time controls, safety devices, electrical units on mobile equipment and machine tool controls.
  • Locate and correct malfunctions in electrical systems including work on hot lines, when directly ordered by supervision (this is only to be done in extreme emergencies) and includes use of ladders and/or scaffolding; rebuild motors; operate any plant electrical equipment used in installation and repair work.
  • Perform work requiring a thorough knowledge of trade practice as related to electrical installations and maintenance. Must know wiring, electrical fixture, motor, and transformer capacities and be familiar with applicable specifications, ordinances, and codes.
  • Perform periodic maintenance on all building and production equipment.
  • Give instruction to other temporary assigned employees and assist Maintenance personnel in other occupations.
  • Perform work in accordance with oral and written instructions from management and in conformance with company standards of safety, workmanship, and good housekeeping practices.
