About The Position

This position performs journeyman-level electrical and mechanical work, including the design, installation, construction, modification, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of industrial equipment and systems. The Maintenance Electrician works independently and collaboratively with Maintenance, Production, Engineering, and outside contractors to ensure equipment operates safely and reliably.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Journeyman Electrician card and/or 5+ years of relevant electrical or industrial maintenance experience, or equivalent experience.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and machine-operating skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with Maintenance, Production, Engineering, contractors, and other team members.
  • Willingness to work varying hours based on production needs, training schedules, maintenance requirements, and equipment downtime.
  • Ability to respond to maintenance call-ins and work independently when required.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Climb ladders, stairs, and equipment.
  • Bend, kneel, reach, and work in various positions.
  • Perform repetitive motions.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Lift and carry up to 45 pounds.
  • Work safely around industrial machinery and equipment.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and other maintenance equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • An Electro-Mechanical degree or related technical education is preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing or paper converting experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain industrial electrical systems and equipment.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of contactors, starters, motors, and motor controls.
  • Install and maintain electrical controls, automation systems, and related components.
  • Troubleshoot AC/DC control wiring and relay logic.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, prints, blueprints, and technical drawings, including U.S. and European standards.
  • Wire and troubleshoot 230V and 460V three-phase motors and single-phase motor systems.
  • Work with electric motors ranging from fractional horsepower through 600 HP, including servo-driven motors.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain PLC-controlled equipment, including ControlLogix, Siemens, and Allen-Bradley systems.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain servo, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Apply working knowledge of NFPA 70E and the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Follow applicable Wisconsin electrical regulations and safety requirements.
  • Install machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial manufacturing equipment.
  • Repair and maintain belt, chain, and sprocket conveyor systems.
  • Perform bearing removal and installation.
  • Perform pipefitting and general mechanical maintenance.
  • Safely use hand tools, portable power tools, and stationary shop equipment.
  • Apply basic rigging principles and safe equipment-handling practices.
  • Perform welding and fabrication as needed.
  • Assist with equipment installation, modification, and improvement projects.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and work to minimize production downtime.
  • Participate in scheduled equipment shutdowns, maintenance meetings, projects, and assigned work orders.
  • Use a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to document and manage maintenance activities.
  • Identify and communicate equipment issues that require additional support or specialized expertise.
  • Coordinate and oversee outside engineering services and contractors when needed.
  • Coordinate the outsourcing of specialized electrical, mechanical, facility, and distribution work.
  • Work with Production and Maintenance leadership to prioritize and resolve equipment and facility issues.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to the Production Supervisor or Operations Manager as appropriate.
  • Continue developing technical knowledge and skills to stay current with advancements in electrical, automation, and industrial maintenance technology.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
