Maintenance Director - Heritage Woods of Manteno
About The Position
Heritage Woods of Manteno is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Director to oversee the community's safety program and ensure a secure and well-maintained environment for residents and staff. This role involves managing a preventative maintenance program for all community equipment, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems. The Maintenance Director will lead and develop the maintenance team, ensuring exceptional service delivery. Responsibilities also include mechanical repairs, maintaining various systems and equipment, managing inventory, implementing safety protocols, and engaging with residents in a compassionate manner.
Requirements
- High school graduate or GED equivalent required
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience in HVAC systems and/or electrical required
- Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the readiness to mentor, motivate, and inspire

- Prior senior living experience desired
Responsibilities
- Oversees Community safety program and maintains a secure resident home and working environment in compliance with policy and regulations
- Sustains a preventative maintenance program to maintain proper functioning of all Community equipment, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
- Hires, trains, schedules, and leads the maintenance team in providing exceptional services
- Mechanically repair, replace, and/or install minor equipment, hardware, and controls
- Maintain water heaters, furnaces, air conditioners, kitchen equipment and associated equipment
- Maintain community plumbing systems
- Completes all maintenance requests, both scheduled and emergency, quickly and efficiently
- Conducts inventory on chemical supplies and complies with proper storage and usage procedures
- Implements safety protocols and procedures to avert incidents and ensure compliance with OSHA requirements
- Performs exterior maintenance duties as necessary
- Delivers fire and disaster education and performs preparation and drill activities with residents and team members
- Engages with residents in a compassionate and impactful manner, cultivating a warm and supportive environment where the values of love, compassion, and dignity are reflected in every interaction
