About The Position

We are seeking a dependable, skilled, and hands-on Maintenance Director to oversee the maintenance, safety, and physical operations of our healthcare facility. The Maintenance Director will be responsible for ensuring the building, grounds, equipment, and essential systems are maintained in a safe, functional, and regulatory-compliant condition.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous maintenance experience required.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies and work flexible hours when necessary.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, vendors, and regulatory personnel.
  • Must be dependable, professional, safety-conscious, and able to work independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Healthcare or long-term care experience preferred.
  • Previous Maintenance Director or Facilities Management experience.
  • Experience working in a skilled nursing, long-term care, assisted living, or healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of Life Safety Code and healthcare facility regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs and facility inspections.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Maintenance Department.
  • Maintain the facility, grounds, equipment, and building systems in safe working condition.
  • Perform and/or coordinate preventive and routine maintenance.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests, emergencies, and facility issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, work orders, and preventive maintenance.
  • Coordinate and supervise outside vendors and contractors as needed.
  • Monitor HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire safety, emergency systems, and other building systems.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, local, OSHA, fire safety, and facility requirements.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections and address identified deficiencies.
  • Assist with emergency preparedness and disaster planning.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.
  • Assist with budgeting and purchasing for maintenance-related needs.
  • Ensure the facility remains clean, safe, secure, and comfortable for residents, staff, and visitors.
  • Work collaboratively with nursing, housekeeping, administration, dietary, and other departments.
  • Participate in inspections, surveys, audits, and corrective action plans.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and accountability to maintenance staff.
