Maintenance Director (Full Time)
About The Position
Arrow Senior Living is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Director to join our team at Vitalia Mentor. This full-time role is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of maintenance, cleanliness, and appearance of the physical building and grounds. The Maintenance Director will oversee the Plant Operations and Housekeeping departments, managing budgets, staffing, and compliance to ensure efficient and safe operations. A key aspect of this role is maintaining resident satisfaction by addressing requests promptly and ensuring a high-quality living environment. The position also requires a strong focus on the safety of employees, guests, and residents, addressing potential hazards and emergency preparedness.
Requirements
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
- Thorough knowledge of construction, refinishing, painting, plumbing, floor/carpet care, refurbishing required.
- Must have at least two (2) years of experience in apartment or other multiple unit maintenance with supervisory experience.
- Possess clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move items more than 50 pounds.
- This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day, and the use of a ladder is required.
- Job functions require both indoor and outdoor work, including in periods of inclement weather.
- Must be criminally cleared.
- Be in good health and physically and mentally capable of performing assigned tasks.
- Good physical health shall be verified by a health screening performed by a physician not more than six (6) months prior to or seven (7) days following employment.
- Must test free from pulmonary tuberculosis at time of health screening.
- Must have a clean driving record as per the insured’s policy.
- Must have skills, knowledge, and competency in the areas of leadership and supervision.
- Must have a working knowledge of current OSHA regulations.
Nice To Haves
- A certification and experience in HVAC is highly recommended.
- Landscaping experience a plus.
- Experience in senior housing is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the physical building and grounds are held to the highest standards of maintenance, cleanliness, and appearance.
- Oversee Plant Operations and Housekeeping departments, including budget, staffing, and compliance.
- Maintain resident satisfaction with the community and their apartments, addressing requests in a timely manner.
- Ensure the safety of employees, guests, and residents, addressing potential environmental hazards and emergency preparedness.
