About The Position

CountryHouse in Council Bluffs, IA, part of Agemark Senior Living, is looking for an experienced, hands-on Maintenance Director to lead their teams in maintaining a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for residents, families, and staff. Requirements

  • Proven leadership experience in maintenance or facilities management.
  • Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • A problem-solver with a friendly, approachable attitude.
  • Flexibility to handle emergencies and varied responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead & mentor the team: Supervise Maintenance, Housekeeping, and Laundry staff, ensuring tasks are completed with excellence.
  • Keep our community safe & running: Maintain buildings, grounds, systems, and equipment—including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, vehicles, and appliances.
  • Manage compliance: Oversee safety inspections, fire drills, and emergency preparedness to ensure compliance with OSHA, fire codes, and building regulations.
  • Oversee move-ins & turnarounds: Ensure suites are prepped and ready for new residents and coordinate smooth move-in/move-out processes.
  • Work with vendors & budgets: Partner with contractors and vendors while managing maintenance budgets efficiently.
  • Support residents & staff: Assist with transportation needs, respond promptly to maintenance requests, and foster a positive environment where everyone feels at home.
