About The Position

Chandler Creek Post Acute is a 133-bed skilled nursing facility located in Greer, South Carolina. We are known for our small-town feel, strong community connections, and team-centered approach to care. Our employees play a vital role in creating a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for residents, families, and staff. We're seeking an experienced and dependable Maintenance Director to lead our Maintenance Department and help ensure our facility remains safe, efficient, and well-maintained.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in maintenance, plant operations, or a related field
  • Experience managing maintenance budgets, schedules, and personnel
  • Knowledge of boilers, generators, compressors, and facility mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building maintenance systems
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and life safety requirements
  • Familiarity with infection control and environmental safety standards in healthcare settings
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and responsibilities
  • Strong communication and team-building skills
  • Ability to respond effectively during emergencies

Nice To Haves

  • Healthcare, skilled nursing, or long-term care maintenance experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, implement, and oversee all maintenance department operations
  • Develop and maintain maintenance policies, procedures, and schedules
  • Coordinate maintenance services with nursing, dietary, activities, housekeeping, and other departments
  • Supervise maintenance staff and ensure department goals are met
  • Conduct daily rounds to monitor facility conditions and staff performance
  • Inspect storage rooms, utility areas, equipment, and facility systems regularly
  • Oversee preventive maintenance programs and repair schedules
  • Ensure outside vendors and contractors complete work according to contracts and work orders
  • Participate in surveys, inspections, and regulatory reviews
  • Develop and implement corrective action plans for identified deficiencies
  • Oversee fire safety, life safety, emergency preparedness, and environmental safety programs
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, infection control practices, and safety regulations
  • Maintain and monitor MSDS/SDS documentation and hazardous chemical storage
  • Train department staff on safety procedures and proper equipment use
  • Monitor department expenses and assist with budgeting and cost control
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspections, and departmental reports
  • Ensure medical waste and hazardous materials are handled and disposed of properly
  • Respond to facility emergencies and coordinate maintenance support as needed
  • Protect the confidentiality of resident information and maintain HIPAA compliance
  • Direct supervision and management of Maintenance Department personnel
  • Staff coaching, scheduling, training, and performance management
  • Evaluation of maintenance team performance and department operations
