The Maintenance Director is responsible for the overall operation of the Maintenance department in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards. This role requires planning, supervising, and directing maintenance programs, including scheduling preventive maintenance, repairs, and replacements. The position also involves inspecting equipment and systems regularly for proper functioning and safety, running errands, handling incoming and outgoing freight, and lifting and moving heavy furniture and equipment. Additionally, the Maintenance Director is responsible for recruiting, selecting, hiring, evaluating, training, counseling, and supervising maintenance staff, and may perform duties as a Maintenance Assistant as needed. The role demands effective management and operation within budget, exhibiting excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients, assisting in the evacuation of patients, and demonstrating dependable, regular attendance. The position requires concentration, reasoning skills, good judgment, and the ability to communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team. Essential physical functions include sitting, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, walking, reaching, and moving intermittently during working hours, as well as the ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
