About The Position

Schillings is looking to hire a part-time employee as the Maintenance Custodian for four of their current locations: St. John, IN, Valparaiso, IN, Cedar Lake, IN, and Mokena, IL. The position will consist of working up to 28 hours a week, with varying hours Monday through Saturday. The primary goal is to maintain a clean and safe environment for customers and staff, ensuring stores are presentable and providing excellent service.

Requirements

General maintenance background
Attention to Detail
Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions
Ability to lift 25 lbs, bend, climb steps & ladder
Driver's License
High School Diploma or Equivalent

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance checks on fire safety equipment and fire system drips.
Change HVAC filters.
Collect garbage.
Perform general maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs and paint touch-ups.
Identify and correct anything that is out of place.
Assist with cleaning of the store, including upkeep of bathroom supplies, paper towels, garbage, and soap/hand sanitizer dispensers.
Keep track of and stock supply closets at all locations.
Assist with store remodel/demos by keeping the area clean and organized for the crew.
Perform any other requests made by management.
Tend to bathrooms, break rooms, showrooms, offices & departments, entryways, conference rooms/training room, and various storage rooms.
