Under the general direction of the GELC Facilities and Operations Manager, the GELC assists with facilities and operations coordination functions, and performs building and grounds maintenance, and custodial duties. Ensures that the physical environment is safe and healthy for the care of young children and staff. It is the goal of GELC to support tribal children’s learning experience and to learn and be care in a Tribal cultural context, including language. The person in this position is required to take Puyallup language classes as scheduled throughout the year. Must actively participate in professional development activities and complete trainings as recommended or assigned by the Supervisor in order to successfully perform the duties of the position. Expected to assume a leadership role in supporting the overall maintenance operations of the Center. Complete specific tasks and initiatives as assigned by the Director at this time and will be responsible for coordinating and facilitating daily operations, annual planning activities, strategic projects, and other operational priorities as directed. Performs other duties as assigned.
