About The Position

This position coordinates maintenance activities, sets operational priorities, and supports Maintenance Controllers in minimizing delays and maximizing fleet reliability. The Maintenance Controller is responsible for monitoring all maintenance activity outside of heavy maintenance, monitoring real-time aircraft status, and coordinating corrective actions for all aircraft maintenance events. They evaluate discrepancies, determine appropriate deferral or corrective action per the GMM, and coordinate with System Operations Control, station maintenance, maintenance planning, and materials to support AOG recovery, unscheduled maintenance, and scheduled maintenance. This role authorizes and tracks return-to-service activities and RII signoffs per FAA regulations, maintains detailed aircraft status notes, event documentation, IROP consequences and system updates, and ensures adherence to the Safety Management System (SMS) by promptly reporting safety or quality concerns. They also liaise with vendors and on-call maintenance providers, validating parts, tooling, and labor compliance, and support operational readiness by proactively forecasting maintenance workload and resource needs. Regular attendance is an essential function of all positions at CommuteAir.

Requirements

  • Hold a current Airframe and Powerplant certificate and required Company authorizations.
  • At least one year experience as a Certificated Mechanic.
  • Good working knowledge of the aircraft systems and the flight operation.
  • Know the Maintenance Policies and Procedures.
  • Hold a valid state issued driver's license and government issued passport.
  • Proficient computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft 365.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills; able to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Available for rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Organized with the ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities regularly.
  • Legally authorized to work in the USA.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with vendors and on-call maintenance providers, validating parts, tooling, and labor compliance.
  • Support operational readiness by proactively forecasting maintenance workload and resource needs.
  • Perform any maintenance action on which he/she has been trained, qualified, or authorized.
  • Contact and authorize on-call maintenance vendors to provide maintenance services to CommuteAir aircraft.
  • Apply/clear deferral items in AMOS.
  • Remove any aircraft from service when an unairworthy condition exists.
