At the Ministry of Transportation and Economic Corridors we promote a vital and diverse economy by managing transportation safety, supporting municipalities with public transportation and water/wastewater facilities, expanding and enhancing a well-integrated transportation system and enabling market access, and preserving and developing the provincial highway network and water management infrastructure. This position is responsible for administering the highway maintenance programs in a Contract Maintenance Area to ensure the safety of the motoring public. The Maintenance Contract Inspector will plan, order, oversee, and monitor the road maintenance programs including park roads and drainage canals on behalf of Environment and Protected Areas, to ensure that the work carried out by the Contractor is in accordance with the contract agreement. The Inspector will be responsible to manage a budget of approximately $6 to $8 million annually. This position liaises with the public, indigenous communities, contractors, officials of other provincial departments and municipal government officials.
