Maintenance/Construction Technician III - Caswell Correctional Center
About The Position
This position is assigned to Caswell Correctional Center, a medium custody correctional facility. The primary purpose is to perform preventive and routine corrective maintenance tasks, ensuring that assigned systems, equipment, and facilities are maintained in a safe and efficient manner. This role requires multiple trade skills to handle the variety of maintenance tasks common in a correctional facility and involves performing at a semi-skilled level in various maintenance trades. The position will also supervise skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled labor, including inmates, to assist in completing assigned tasks.
Requirements
- High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two (2) years of progressive experience in the assigned trade areas; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Documented knowledge of methods, practices, tools and materials used in general maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment and machinery.
- Documented knowledge of machine shop equipment.
- Documented knowledge of supervision of individuals with various skill levels from no skills to advanced.
Nice To Haves
- Current certification by the Environmental Protection Agency as a Type I, II, III or Universal technician as required by Title 40, Code of Federal Regulations Part 82, Subpart F.
