About The Position

Reporting to the Maintenance/Construction Supervisor II, the Maintenance/Construction Technician III position requires specialization in two or more technical trades in connection with maintenance of facilities, related equipment, and machinery. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, functioning at the journey level in multiple skilled trades such as electrical, plumbing, masonry, heating and air, or similar specializations. This role involves completing complex work assignments which require planning and/or coordinating multiple trade disciplines, working assigned tasks independently and referring very technical and/or unusual working problems to a supervisor for consideration. The position also involves supervising offender workers engaged in semi-skilled, unskilled, or skilled maintenance assignments and ensuring compliance with work orders and maintaining equipment in proper working conditions. Selected candidate may be scheduled to work any shift and will work weekends and holidays to ensure 24/7 staffing coverage.

Requirements

  • High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of progressive experience in the assigned trade areas
  • Or An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of the methods, practices, tools, and/or materials used in the general maintenance and/or repair of buildings, equipment, and/or machinery.
  • Current certification by the Environmental Protection Agency as a Type I, II, III or Universal Technician as required by Title 40, Code of Federal Regulations Part 82, Subpart F.
