The Substation Maintenance and Construction Supervisor leads the day-to-day maintenance, repair and construction of contracted transmission and distribution substations, distribution automation installations; and associated protection, controls and data communications equipment and facilities. Key responsibilities include: Oversee contractor crews as required. Maintain a schedule and coordinate labor, equipment, and material deliveries. Responsibilities include daily contact with contractor supervisory personnel to assess manpower, equipment, tools and material needs for specific projects. Also address contractor productivity and quality issues including overtime requirements, work quality, and jobsite safety. Complete Project Management tasks. Maintain oversight of contractor field activities to verify reasonable crew sizes and man-hours worked, and proper equipment and tools utilization. Review and approve contractor billings in API and/or OTTC. Administer job working rules, SAWS requests, Workman’s Protection Assurance (WPA), traffic control, road permits, OSHA and environmental regulations, and applicable Ameren operating procedures. Interpret and convey Ameren provided design specifications, drawings and job instructions to contractor personnel. Provide constructability review of specifications and drawings to ensure effective utilization of construction materials, resources and techniques; and facilitate design change decisions to avoid cost overruns or schedule delays. Identify and evaluate contract change requirements and facilitate contract addenda when necessary. Document all field changes to record as-built conditions and follow procedures to incorporate these changes in records revisions. Interact with property owners, other utilities, and regulatory and permitting authorities as required for access to and construction work on Ameren property. Loading relay results into Powerbase.
