About The Position
This co-op position offers a student the opportunity to gain practical experience in maintenance operations. The role involves administering maintenance routines, managing records, tracking performance indicators, and assisting with project management tasks. The student will also be involved in sourcing parts, participating in planning meetings, reviewing work orders, and coordinating equipment downtime. Data entry into a Computerized Maintenance Management System is a key part of the role, along with supporting the condition monitoring program and other assigned duties.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil engineering program
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical aptitude
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Word and Excel
- Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads and sudden or frequent changes in priority
- Effective interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
Responsibilities
- Administering maintenance routines and schedules
- Keeping maintenance records
- Tracking maintenance key performance indicators
- Assisting with project planning, estimating, scope definition and cost tracking
- Sourcing, ordering and expediting equipment parts
- Participating in planning and scheduling meetings
- Reviewing outstanding maintenance work orders
- Organizing and arranging contract services
- Tracking equipment usage
- Coordinating equipment downtime with production requirements
- Supporting condition monitoring program
- Entering data in Computerized Maintenance Management System
- Assuming other duties as assigned
