About The Position

The Store Porter is responsible for maintaining a clean sales floor through sweeping, mopping, cleaning, and waxing, as well as other maintenance related assignments. The mission of all Tops associates is to adhere to the Tops vision of providing a friendly neighborhood store that saves the customer time and money.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age and 18 yrs. of age to perform certain functions/tasks
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions
• Possess basic computer skills
• Possess strong communication skills

Responsibilities

• Follow all Federal, State, and Local regulations as well as company policies regarding maintenance operations, safety, and sanitation
• Ensure safe and clean floor conditions, including sweeping, mopping, and clearing all unsafe conditions
• Maintain clean store appearance through emptying garbage cans, cleaning chrome, mirrors, windows, ledges, displays, carpets, restrooms, break room, maintenance, and Meat Dept. equipment (where applicable) according to company sanitation policies
• Keep adequate cleaning/waxing supplies (where applicable)
• Maintain hand soap/towels in restrooms
