About The Position

Turner Industries Group is hiring a Maintenance Civil Superintendent to join their team in the Houston, TX area. The Civil Superintendent reports directly to the Site Manager functionally and administratively. The Civil Superintendent is responsible for the management of the field execution of civil activities in all phases including planning, scheduling, estimating and executing. As part of the planning process the Civil Superintendent is responsible for engagement with all field activities and ensuring all requirements to execute daily work scopes have been addressed and provided. The Civil Superintendent will incorporate safety and environmental responsibility into daily action by attending/leading at least one tailgate meeting daily using positive communication to stress the importance of both. They will perform job walks to make sure policies, objectives, and targets are met safely and efficiently as well as inspect housekeeping, quality of work, and to talk to employees in the field and ask if they have everything they need to complete their jobs safely. The Civil Superintendent is the most critical role during the execution of all daily activities. The Civil Superintendent's chief responsibility is to maintain the core values of Turner Industries Group Zero Incident Performance and manage the daily activities in the field as set forth by the schedule.

Requirements

  • 10 years experience in supervision overseeing civil craft work in a petrochemical environment.
  • OSHA 30 or CSST Certification required.
  • Will be required to maintain training and readiness as a Competent Person, 40-hour HAZWOPER, Basic First Aid, CPR, and AED use.
  • TWIC Card Required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Familiar with the Google suite of software (Gmail, Drive, Meet, etc).

Responsibilities

  • Management of the field execution of civil activities in all phases including planning, scheduling, estimating and executing.
  • Engagement with all field activities and ensuring all requirements to execute daily work scopes have been addressed and provided.
  • Incorporating safety and environmental responsibility into daily action by attending/leading at least one tailgate meeting daily using positive communication to stress the importance of both.
  • Performing job walks to make sure policies, objectives, and targets are met safely and efficiently.
  • Inspecting housekeeping and quality of work.
  • Talking to employees in the field and asking if they have everything they need to complete their jobs safely.
  • Maintaining the core values of Turner Industries Group Zero Incident Performance.
  • Managing the daily activities in the field as set forth by the schedule.
  • Coordinating with all contractor supervision assigned to the project.
  • Being a large contributor of engagement across the facility continually driving the safety culture of a Goal Zero mindset.
  • Providing leadership and team building, influencing our front-line leadership leading by example.
  • Participating in the continuous professional development of our nested workforce.
  • Helping organize material to be presented during Supervisors or Craft Toolbox Safety Meetings.
  • Performing both formal and impromptu safety and health audits.
  • Assessing safety and performance and recommending corrective actions.
  • Performing and/or reviewing all safety reports, transmitting them to Regional Safety Manager and other management, as necessary.
  • Managing all elements of project execution.
