About The Position

The Maintenance Automation Technician is responsible for monitoring and maintaining systems and equipment, PLC programming, and general system controls. This role actively supports production departments by reacting to down equipment with appropriate urgency, working with maintenance and operations teams to perform preventative maintenance tasks, and providing support by troubleshooting equipment and connecting to PLC and control systems throughout the production area. The technician will also review, troubleshoot, and modify PLC hardware, communications network, and programs, proactively inspect equipment and operating systems, and take corrective actions when necessary. Additionally, the role involves auditing production processes to identify efficiency improvements, locating sources of problems using precision measuring and testing instruments, assisting with the implementation and commissioning of new processes and equipment, and maintaining clear and concise communication with management, engineers, production team members, and maintenance team members. Accurate record-keeping of work completed and proper change-management of programs and documentation are also key responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Certification or course work in industrial controls systems or PLC design.
  • Prior industrial maintenance experience.
  • Prior experience troubleshooting industrial PLC/controls.
  • Prior experience with Siemens and Rockwell/Allen-Bradley.
  • Structured text, ladder logic, SFC, function blocks, etc.
  • Experience with low voltage and Ethernet communication.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with ProLeit, Codex, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately keep records of work completed and ensure proper change-management of programs and documentation.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
