About The Position

Pilgrim Parking is currently hiring Maintenance Workers for part-time opportunities to start immediately at the Fan Pier Garage in Boston, MA. This role involves performing various maintenance and cleaning tasks to ensure the facility is clean, safe, and well-maintained. The position offers a pay rate of $19 per hour and is part-time, with shifts on Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. The company also offers a $1,000 signing/retention bonus and an additional $1,000 for each referred friend who is hired, with specific terms and conditions applying to these bonuses.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years old.
  • Valid driver's license and have been driving for at least 2 years.
  • Energetic, outgoing.
  • Can stand, run, and carry items, up to 50lbs, if needed.
  • Great communicator in both written and spoken language, with a friendly, professional approach to everyone you meet.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, and can help resolve customer issues in a positive and helpful way.
  • Can drive a manual (standard, stick-shift) transmission.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all maintenance and cleaning tasks noted on checklists and as directed by the facility manager/supervisor to ensure all dirt, dust, litter, and debris are removed from all areas of the facility.
  • Sweep and pick up around entrances, exits, stairwells, clean surface area rails on all levels, the booth, the office, and restrooms.
  • Empty all trashcans in the garage, the booth, and the office.
  • Responsible for the safety and security of company equipment.
  • Paint any and all areas of the facility as directed by the facility manager/supervisor.
  • Perform tasks such as replacing light bulbs as needed or applying oil absorbent to oil spills.
  • Walk the garage daily to note and correct any maintenance problems.
  • Check conditions on ticket splitters, gates, ticket supply, time clock, and other equipment for proper functioning and general appearance.
  • Pick-up and delivery of winter supplies, sand, salt, fuel, power equipment, vehicles, etc.
  • Maintain an inventory of janitorial supplies and submit requests to re-stock supplies as needed.
  • Operate automatic sweepers, scrubbers, outdoor equipment (such as weed eater), lawnmowers, or other electrical tools to repair or construct items, as applicable.
  • Shovel, plow, or blow snow from entrance or exit ramps and in designated areas.
  • Resolve customer complaints independently or with the aid of a supervisor.
  • Report any known accidents or violations of Company policy, safety hazards, or any unusual occurrence to the local manager in a timely manner.
