About The Position

The Maintenance Attendant role at DoubleTree West Kelowna focuses on ensuring a positive guest experience by promptly addressing maintenance requests and conducting preventative maintenance. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, attentive, approachable, organized, communicative, and an effective multi-tasker. This role requires a commitment to exceptional service, maintaining company policies, respecting guest privacy, and ensuring all areas of the hotel are in good working order.

Requirements

  • Some experience in maintenance/repairs.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts.
  • Ability to be on your feet for the duration of your shift.
  • Understanding that SERVICE is the key to any successful business.

Responsibilities

  • Address urgent maintenance requests from the previous night.
  • Handle ongoing guest maintenance requests throughout the day.
  • Perform preventative maintenance projects to protect hotel assets and ensure proper functioning of all areas.
  • Paint ceilings and trim.
  • Repair tile, furniture, and plumbing.
  • Assist with major emergency repairs, including water shutdowns.
  • Follow company policies regarding professional appearance and guest privacy.
  • Record and act on guest preferences.
  • Handle guest requests, questions, and concerns.
  • Maintain a calm and welcoming demeanor while multitasking.
  • Listen respectfully to guest complaints, empathize, and work towards a resolution.
  • Loop in a manager for guest complaint resolution if necessary.
  • Follow all company and brand standards to protect guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas.
