About The Position

The Maintenance Associate helps ensure the cleanliness, safety, and overall upkeep of the store, including its interior and exterior. The role supports a positive shopping experience for customers and a well-maintained workplace for associates through routine cleaning, basic repairs, hazard reporting, and other maintenance activities. When time allows, the associate may also assist with unloading trucks, stocking, or zoning merchandise. The role includes cross-training, participation in learning initiatives, and providing friendly, professional support to others.

Requirements

At least 3 years of retail cashier or retail supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
Meticulous attention to detail and strong math skills for accurate cash handling.
Ability to review and analyze information thoroughly and identify errors or inconsistencies.
Excellent communication skills to implement policies and procedures, direct staff, and provide customer service.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to actively listen, ask relevant questions, and provide thorough, articulate responses.
Excellent customer service skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Comfort navigating computer systems and software to assist customers or manage activities.
Ability to work a 40-hour workweek with varied hours, days, nights, and weekends as business dictates.
Ability to maintain a seated or standing position for extended durations.
Ability to lift, push, and/or pull a minimum of 30 pounds repetitively and 31–50 pounds intermittently.
Ability to navigate and access all facilities.
Ability to communicate verbally with others in person and via electronic devices.
Close vision for computer-related activities.

Responsibilities

Perform routine cleaning and maintenance to uphold store appearance and hygiene standards.
Sweep, mop, and regularly operate the floor scrubber to maintain clean and safe floors.
Empty trash receptacles and replace garbage bags.
Clean and disinfect restrooms and breakrooms and ensure essential supplies are stocked.
Wipe down counters, display shelves, fixtures, and other surfaces.
Perform basic repairs and maintenance, including changing light bulbs, addressing minor plumbing issues, and repairing damaged fixtures.
Monitor and report safety hazards, malfunctioning equipment, and maintenance needs to the appropriate supervisor.
Assist with unloading trucks, stocking, or zoning merchandise when time allows.
Maintain the cleanliness of the parking lot and remove exterior trash.
Operate a floor scrubber proficiently.
Participate in cross-training for flexibility across departments and responsibilities.
Participate in learning initiatives, including training programs, workshops, and webinars.
Provide friendly, proactive, and professional internal and external support, responding promptly and effectively to inquiries, concerns, and issues.
