About The Position

Under the direction of the maintenance supervisor, the Maintenance Assistant is responsible for the periodical inspection and/or replacing of seals, filters, light bulbs, and changing machine coolant. This role also involves minor repairs to plant equipment such as belts and pulleys, and is an important part of the plant's Preventive Maintenance program. Working from a schedule, the employee will be responsible for accurately recording maintenance service performed for each type of machinery or equipment. This person will be responsible for assisting Millwright and/or electrician or others in the installation or repair of plant machinery or equipment. Must notify the Millwright, Electrician or Supervisor of tools and supplies needed to perform assigned duties. Employee will maintain a safe and clean area and perform any requested, unusual, and reasonable duties assigned by supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Periodical inspection and/or replacing of seals, filters, light bulbs
• Changing machine coolant

• Participate in the plant's Preventive Maintenance program
