About The Position

Roseville Care Center is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Assistant to help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for our residents, staff, and visitors. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys facility maintenance, problem-solving, and working as part of a supportive team in a skilled nursing environment. The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for assisting with the upkeep, repair, and overall maintenance of the facility, grounds, and equipment in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a 10th grade education required
  • Previous maintenance experience in healthcare, skilled nursing, apartment, hotel, or commercial facilities preferred
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical repairs
  • Ability to work independently and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work cooperatively with residents, families, staff, and vendors
  • Must be dependable, organized, and safety-conscious

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repair duties including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, mechanical, and general facility upkeep
  • Maintain facility grounds, parking lots, walkways, and outdoor areas through trimming, sweeping, and general maintenance
  • Replace light bulbs, repair fixtures, and assist with maintaining safe lighting throughout the facility
  • Assist with servicing heating and cooling systems according to manufacturer guidelines
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance assignments as directed
  • Ensure maintenance schedules are completed in a timely and efficient manner
  • Maintain equipment and tools in clean and proper working condition
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with nursing staff when working in resident care areas
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and report equipment malfunctions immediately
  • Follow all safety procedures and infection control guidelines
  • Assist with moving equipment and supplies as needed
  • Attend department meetings and trainings as required
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident information and comply with HIPAA regulations
  • Assist during emergency situations, including resident evacuations if necessary
