About The Position

The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Assistant is to ensure all vacated apartments are thoroughly restored to market-ready status and that service requests are completed in a timely manner. This role assumes the responsibilities of the Lead Maintenance in their absence. The position involves maintaining and monitoring parts, supplies, and equipment inventory, providing support to other maintenance staff, and participating in quarterly property inspections. The role also includes removing trash from outside each shift, cleaning vacant apartments, and providing excellent customer service to residents. Occasional work at other Foundation Communities properties in the Austin area may be required, and the position requires being on call. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

2-4 years of practical experience with demonstration of required skills.
Works on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations.
Make-ready experience helpful with good understanding of pools, plumbing, electrical, etc.

Nice To Haves

Fair housing training and certification for Apartment Maintenance Technician.
Additional Certifications (i.e. HVAC).
Knowledge of OSHA requirements.

Responsibilities
