About The Position

LCB Senior Living is hiring a Maintenance Assistant at The Residence at Bedford. This role performs routine maintenance and repair of the residence, maintaining the physical appearance of the grounds and building, and ensuring the building is physically sound and safe. The position also involves cleaning residents' rooms and common areas, discarding waste, replacing light bulbs, and assisting with general housekeeping and laundry duties. The role works with outside contractors as needed.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of maintenance functions and techniques.
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards, state and local fire codes and other safety regulations.
  • Ability to organize and provide the maintenance needs of the residence.
  • Ability to work with outside vendors and contractors as required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing.
  • Requires frequent heavy lifting, bending, stooping, climbing, pushing and stretching.
  • Requires moving of heavy furniture, equipment and boxes.
  • Four or more years maintenance experience is required, preferably in the health care industry.
  • Valid driver's license in the state employed is required.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • HVAC certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine maintenance and repair of residence equipment.
  • Maintains the physical appearance of the grounds and building.
  • Ensures the building is physically sound and safe.
  • Works with outside contractors as needed.
  • Cleans residents' rooms and residence common areas including vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, polishing, mopping, and disinfecting.
  • Discards waste into proper containers and replaces light bulbs.
  • Assists with any general housekeeping/laundry duties as necessary.
  • Promotes the mission and core values of the Residence and LCB Senior Living.
  • Represents and interacts positively with potential residents, family members, and professionals to grow community occupancy.
  • Performs all duties and responsibilities with a positive attitude.
  • Ensures work area is free of hazardous conditions.
  • Attends all required in-service trainings and/or orientations.
  • Participates in the communities on-call program at the discretion of the MD and ED.
  • Follows all established safety procedures and precautions when performing environmental services.
  • Replaces burned out light bulbs for exit lights, overhead lights, room call lights, exterior lights, etc.
  • May act as contact person for vendors performing maintenance jobs.
  • Demonstrates proper usage of chemicals and equipment.
  • Discards waste/trash into proper containers and re-lines trash receptacles.
  • Discards waste/trash into facility dumpsters.
