About The Position

LCB Senior Living is hiring a Maintenance Assistant at Traditions of Dedham. This role performs routine maintenance and repair of the residence, maintaining the physical appearance of the grounds and building, and ensuring the building is physically sound and safe. The position also involves working with outside contractors as needed, cleaning resident rooms and common areas, discarding waste, replacing light bulbs, and assisting with general housekeeping and laundry duties.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of maintenance functions and techniques, OSHA standards, state and local fire codes and other safety regulations.
  • Ability to organize and provide the maintenance needs of the residence.
  • Ability to work with outside vendors and contractors as required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing.
  • Frequent heavy lifting, bending, stooping, climbing, pushing and stretching.
  • Moving of heavy furniture, equipment and boxes.
  • Four or more years maintenance experience is required, preferably in the health care industry.
  • Valid driver's license in the state employed is required.

Nice To Haves

  • HVAC certificate preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Promote the mission and core values of the Residence and LCB Senior Living to residents, visitors, coworkers and the surrounding community.
  • Have an active role in growing community occupancy by representing and interacting positively with potential residents, family members and professionals.
  • Perform all duties and responsibilities with a positive attitude.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repair on the residence equipment.
  • Ensure work area is free of hazardous conditions.
  • Attend all required in-service trainings and/or orientations.
  • Participate in the communities on call program at the discretion of the MD and ED.
  • Follow all established safety procedures and precautions when performing environmental services.
  • Replace burned out light bulbs for exit lights, overhead lights, room call lights, exterior lights, etc.
  • May act as contact person for vendors performing maintenance jobs.
  • Demonstrate proper usage of chemicals and equipment.
  • Discard waste/trash into proper containers and re-line trash receptacles.
  • Discard waste/trash into facility dumpsters.
  • Perform cleaning of residents rooms and residence common areas including vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, polishing, mopping, disinfecting, etc.
  • Discard waste into proper containers, replace light bulbs and assist with any general housekeeping/laundry duties as necessary.
