Maintenance Assistant / Van Driver
About The Position
Harmony at Savannah is seeking a dependable, motivated Full-Time Van Driver / Maintenance Assistant to join our team. This dual-role position offers a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with seniors, takes pride in maintaining a safe and attractive community, and values being part of a supportive team. This full-time role is approximately: 50% Resident Transportation (Van Driver) 50% Maintenance Assistance. The successful candidate will safely transport residents to appointments, outings, and scheduled activities while also assisting with the upkeep, maintenance, and appearance of our community.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (required).
- Previous maintenance experience required.
- Ability to safely operate a passenger van.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
- Dependable, organized, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working in senior living, hospitality, or healthcare is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport residents to medical appointments, shopping trips, and community outings.
- Assist residents with entering and exiting the vehicle as needed.
- Maintain transportation schedules and documentation.
- Perform routine inspections and ensure the community vehicle is clean, fueled, and in safe operating condition.
- Assist with general building maintenance and repairs.
- Complete work orders in a timely manner.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks.
- Help maintain the grounds, common areas, and exterior appearance of the community.
- Assist with painting, light plumbing, electrical repairs, HVAC maintenance, and other general maintenance duties as assigned.
