About The Position

TerraBella Senior Living is seeking a Maintenance Assistant/Transportation Driver to join their community in Lincolnton. This role involves performing maintenance and housekeeping duties throughout the community grounds, buildings, and vehicles. The position requires routine maintenance to ensure all service requests for repairs and upkeep are completed efficiently and cost-effectively. Responsibilities include fixing various surfaces, repairing furniture and fixtures, performing basic plumbing, electrical, and appliance repairs, painting, and working with HVAC and refrigeration systems. The role also includes maintaining carpets and hard surfaces, and preparing rooms for new residents.

Requirements

• One-year maintenance experience.
• Ability to be on call if needed.
• General understanding of systems including plumbing, electrical, mechanical and code compliance.
• General understanding of OSHA, fire prevention, life and safety regulations.
• Ability to respond to emergency calls outside of scheduled work hours.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Written and verbal skills for effective communication.
• Competent in organizational and time management skills.
• Demonstrates good judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Must be able to drive a 14-passenger bus.
• Must have a clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

• CDL License preferred

Responsibilities

• Performing maintenance and housekeeping duties in and around the community grounds as assigned.
• Performs routine maintenance duties to complete all service requests for repair and maintenance of all grounds, buildings, apartment homes, equipment and vehicles in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
• Fixing wall and/or floor coverings.
• Repairing furniture and fixtures.
• Performing basic plumbing work.
• Performing minor electrical repairs.
• Repairing appliances.
• Painting and refurbishing projects.
• Working with heating and air systems, refrigeration systems, carpet and hard surface maintenance.
• Preparing rooms ('make ready') as assigned.
• Driving a 14-passenger bus.
