About The Position

Weinstein Properties is seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Assistant Supervisor for the Abbington West End property in Henrico, VA (Richmond). This is a hands-on role where you will assist with managing and coordinating a service team to ensure efficient upkeep, inventory, and repair of the property's grounds and buildings. The role involves diagnosing and making repairs in areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, carpentry, drywall, exterior structural, and appliances. You will also schedule and supervise in-house and vendor work, share on-call duties, and contribute to maximizing rents and maintaining high occupancy through professional maintenance practices, quality control, and adherence to policies. The service team is customer service-driven, aiming to create a positive influence on visitors, prospects, and residents. Weinstein Properties owns and manages all its properties, offering stability and growth opportunities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years trade-related experience.
  • At least 1 year of hands-on apartment maintenance lead, assistant, or supervisory experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of all aspects of building maintenance including electrical, plumbing, appliance repairs, interior/exterior maintenance and carpentry.
  • EPA/CFC Refrigerant certification required (Type I and II or Universal).
  • Hands-on HVAC repair experience required.
  • Computer skills: use business software to assign and manage work orders, schedule turns, order supplies and communicate via email.
  • Willing to share on-call with other team members.
  • Valid driver's license, transportation and tools required.
  • Must pass a DMV, background, and criminal check.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with managing and coordinating activities of a service team to ensure that all upkeep, inventory and repair of grounds and buildings of the property are completed in an efficient manner.
  • Work as part of the team to complete all maintenance duties.
  • Diagnose problems and make repairs in areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, carpentry, dry walling, exterior structural and appliances.
  • Schedule and directly supervise all in-house and/or vendor work.
  • Share on-call duties with other team members.
  • Follow professional maintenance practices, using quality control and following policies/procedures.
  • Provide customer service to residents.
