About The Position

Weinstein Properties is seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Assistant Supervisor for the Charlotte, NC region in Concord, specifically at the Bexley Village at Concord Mills community. This is a 624-unit community with a maintenance team of 9 employees. The role involves two Assistant Supervisors, one managing maintenance work orders and the other managing the make-ready turn process, with cross-training and joint leadership of the maintenance team. The position requires managing and coordinating a service team to ensure efficient upkeep, inventory, and repair of the property's grounds and buildings, while also actively participating in maintenance duties. The team diagnoses and repairs issues in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, carpentry, drywall, exterior structures, and appliances. The role also includes assisting in scheduling and supervising in-house and vendor work, and sharing on-call duties. This is a hands-on position where the service team's effectiveness in maintaining the property directly impacts rent collection and occupancy levels through professional maintenance practices, quality control, and adherence to policies. The customer service focus of the team is crucial for influencing visitors, prospects, and residents. Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years trade related experience.
  • At least 1 year of hands-on apartment maintenance lead, assistant or supervisory experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of all aspects of building maintenance.
  • EPA/CFC Refrigerant certification required (Type I and II or Universal).
  • Hands-on HVAC repair experience required.
  • Computer skills: use business software to assign and manage work orders, schedule turns, order supplies and communicate via email.
  • Willing to share on-call with other team members.
  • Valid driver's license, transportation and tools required.
  • Must pass a DMV and background/criminal check.

Responsibilities

  • Managing and coordinating activities of a service team to ensure that all upkeep, inventory and repair of grounds and buildings of the property are completed in an efficient manner.
  • Working as part of the team to complete all maintenance duties.
