About The Position

Learn all functions of packaging equipment across all production lines. Learn how to conduct changeovers on equipment in support of production. Learn how to trouble shoot and repair glue melting-pots, printers and other supporting equipment. Learn the basic operation of the evaporators and develop the ability to describe their functionality. Learn the basic functions and operation of steam system and steam generators. Apprentice with experienced technicians on preventative maintenance tasks. Learn the basics of electrical as it relates to the equipment including how to read schematics. The Maintenance Technician Apprentice will learn how to maintain mechanical equipment including augers, gear boxes, blowers, compressors, belts, fans, rotary valves, mobile equipment, and various types of pumps. Work safely and efficiently while following and adhering to all safety policies/procedures. This includes all LOTO procedures. Attend and complete necessary training. Attend and complete specific job skills training as outlined below: Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment. Play a critical role not only in ensuring your own safety, but the safety of others. Document repairs and reliability information on equipment on CMMS. Follow written procedures and complete detailed check lists on PM work Orders. Work in excess of standard schedule including call-outs and holidays. This role requires candidates to attain expertise in troubleshooting for production lines, as well as facilitating changeovers. Conduct and diagnose problems and carry out prompt equipment repairs and preventative maintenance. Must attain basic electrical skills to include the use of a multi-meter to troubleshoot motors, fuses, etc. Ensure the proper maintenance of the facility and maintain a clean and secure working area. Track the order progress: After placing an order, it is required to track progress and coordinate with the maintenance planner. Regular communication with the maintenance planner to ensure timely delivery of parts. Ability to effectively manage multiple work assignments simultaneously. Perform the transformation of equipment and the preparation of production setups. All other duties, as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Industrial maintenance experience.
  • CMMS program experience.
