Entry Level Technician - Apprentice - Plant City - Night Shift
About The Position
At Peninsula Steel, we are looking for a Maintenance Apprentice / Entry-Level Maintenance Technician to join our night shift team. This position is ideal for someone who is interested in learning and growing into a maintenance technician role, or who has related hands-on experience and wants to continue developing technical skills in a manufacturing or warehouse environment. This is an entry-level position that supports both operations and maintenance-related tasks, working closely with experienced technicians through hands-on, on-the-job training. The training period is 6-10 weeks and may be on the morning or evening shift.
Requirements
- Entry-level position; prior experience is required in manufacturing and/or warehouse environments
- Interest in learning and developing as a maintenance technician
- Experience will be considered if related to automotive maintenance, industrial maintenance, machinery or equipment maintenance, or technical, mechanical, or electrical work (even at a basic level)
- Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, or technical concepts
- Reliable, responsible, and safety-oriented
- Ability to work the night shift
- Availability to train on the day shift as required for on-the-job training
- Ability to stand and work on feet for at least 7 hours per shift
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, including areas that may be noisy, dusty, or exposed to industrial conditions
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual English / Spanish is a plus
Responsibilities
- Assist daily plant and warehouse operations as needed
- Support maintenance activities under supervision, including assisting with part replacements and spare components, supporting preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, lubrication of mechanical components and equipment, and assisting with basic equipment inspections and reporting issues
- Help organize tools, parts, and maintenance supplies
- Maintain work areas clean, organized, and safe
- Follow all safety rules, procedures, and maintenance guidelines
- Learn proper use of tools, equipment, and maintenance processes
