About The Position

First Quality is a family-owned company founded over 35 years ago, with a significant presence across the U.S. and Canada. We specialize in producing high-quality personal care and household products. We are seeking a Maintenance & Procurement Manager for our First Quality Home Care Products facility in Salt Lake City, UT. This role is crucial for leading plant maintenance strategy, managing parts/store room operations, supporting production maintenance, and overseeing procurement to ensure optimal equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and cost-effective purchasing. The position supports continuous manufacturing operations by managing preventive maintenance programs, controlling MRO inventory, and overseeing plant service agreements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of maintenance leadership in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of procurement or MRO purchasing experience.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting knowledge.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Budget management and cost-control experience.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with PLCs and automation systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs and strategies to ensure maximum uptime and reliability of production equipment.
  • Manage EAM system, work orders, and maintenance schedules.
  • Support installation and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Maintain facility systems including HVAC, compressed air, and electrical infrastructure.
  • Track and report KPIs (downtime, MTTR, PM compliance, OEE, TBM, Stock Room Stores, and other like KPIs).
  • Manage procurement of MRO parts, tools, equipment, and services.
  • Oversee service agreements.
  • Monitor spare parts inventory to minimize downtime and reduce carrying costs.
  • Review and approve purchase orders and invoices.
  • Evaluate supplier performance (quality, delivery, cost).
  • Identify cost-reduction and process improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinate capital equipment purchases and installations.
  • Manage maintenance and procurement budgets.
  • Track capital expenditures and operating costs.
  • Forecast parts usage and maintenance expenses.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing and maintenance documentation.
  • Support audits and regulatory inspections.
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, TPM, reliability programs).
  • Support plant goals related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
