SUMMARY: Use experience and skills to troubleshoot, repair, adjust and maintain manufacturing and ancillary equipment. This person will, at times, assist the Plant Engineer in the planning, directing and coordinating of the activities concerned with the Engineering and Maintenance departments. This position will entail a more hands on approach to projects and will also require an in-depth knowledge of sound electrical or mechanical engineering and trade practices.

Requirements

Two-year certificate from college or technical school with a focus in machining and/or electronics and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, repair, adjust and maintain manufacturing and ancillary equipment, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical and electronic systems.
Possess the ability to use monitoring and testing equipment to facilitate troubleshooting, repairing, adjusting, and maintaining of manufacturing and ancillary equipment.
Identify and develop maintenance training programs in all process areas.
Identify targeted training for individuals in the department and validate training with audits.
Identify and develop new and current equipment PMs.
Develop annual audit PMs for different process and infrastructure areas.
Evaluate equipment for obsolescence and upgrade options.
Track maintenance downtime and develop improvement plans for each area.
Work with Plant Engineers on equipment improvements plans and capital execution.
Help with the execution of new equipment installations.
Work with maintenance technicians as needed to execute planned work.
Work with contractors as part of capital and non-capital projects
Responsible for working safely.
Other duties as assigned.
