About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Facilities Maintenance Manager, the Temporary Maintenance and Custodial Technician responsibilities include groundskeeping, building maintenance and repair for all Eugene Tribal government buildings and facilities. Coordinates and performs various maintenance tasks, repairs, and work orders for all Eugene CIT buildings. Maintains a safe and healthy work environment. Coordinates the repair and maintenance of a variety of facility systems, components, and structures. Cleans buildings and bathrooms, sweeps and mops floors, empties trash, paints offices, replaces light bulbs, keeps building entrances and exits clean and passable, picks up litter. Maintains and manages landscaping and appearance of Tribal grounds and properties as directed. Removes brush, thin trees, and removes noxious weeds. Performs minor building repairs. Uses the maintenance ticketing system to address facilities maintenance needs. Troubleshoots electrical, plumbing, and HVAC maintenance needs. Operates various small equipment and tools. Coordinates the stock replacement of custodial supplies and custodial clean-up. Ensures Eugene fleet management compliance and accountability. Assists with set-up and clean-up at CIT functions and events as directed. Complies with all required training and certifications under all health and safety regulations. Ability to respond to after-hours emergency facility problems. Other duties as assigned. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Three (3) years’ work experience in construction or maintenance required.
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Computer experience with Microsoft Office required.
  • Current and valid Oregon Driver’s license in good standing with no insurability issues with the Tribe’s insurance carrier is required.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and Criminal and Character Background Check.
  • Ability to respond to after-hours emergency facility problems.

  • Professional custodial experience preferred.
