About The Position

Northland Heights is seeking a Maintenance Aide to assist the Maintenance Director with facility repairs and resident transportation. This entry-level position offers an opportunity to gain experience in handyman work. The role is responsible for the overall maintenance of the facility, ensuring residents have a well-maintained building and grounds. The Maintenance Aide will perform minor repairs and upkeep throughout the building and grounds as assigned, and assist with resident transportation requests, with a focus on providing the best service possible.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED
Valid Driver’s License
Ability and willingness to provide exceptional customer service.
The ability to meet minimum physical requirements to perform job duties.
Exceptional customer service skills.
The ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload.

Responsibilities

Aides in driving a 14-passenger bus of residents to and from outings.
Maintains the facility grounds and building exteriors on a daily, weekly, monthly, and seasonal basis.
Repairs or replaces defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and resembles equipment.
Performs routine preventative maintenance to resident rooms to ensure everything is in proper working order.
Assists in moving materials, supplies, equipment, etc.
Performs routine preventive maintenance on laundry equipment, heating and air conditioning units, ice machines, fire extinguishers, fire/smoke alarms, lawn sprinklers, lawn equipment, and plumbing are performed as required by the manufacturer and in accordance with the warranty specifications.
Ensures maintenance duties are performed according to manufacturer specifications and local Health department regulations.
Ensures that established infection control practices are maintained when performing maintenance duties.
Follows proper techniques for mixing chemicals, cleaning disinfectants and solutions.
Attends staff meetings and in-service education, as required.
Assists the Maintenance Director in resolving guest complaints concerning the Maintenance department.
