About The Position
The Town of Wethersfield Physical Services Department is hiring a Maintainer II to operate trucks and light equipment in support of roadwork, construction, snow removal, and grounds maintenance. The role works in a fast-paced outdoor environment as part of a team responsible for maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and condition of roads, parks, and public spaces throughout the year.
Requirements
- One year of experience in highway maintenance or groundskeeping work.
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
Nice To Haves
- Experience operating light and/or heavy construction equipment.
Responsibilities
- Service trucks and equipment with fuel and lubricants.
- Prepare tractors, rollers, and auxiliary equipment for operation.
- Drive a truck to plow and sand assigned routes.
- Operate equipment to mow roadsides, fields, and recreational areas.
- Grade, fertilize, seed, and line playing fields.
- Remove and store leaves.
- Repair or install curbing.
- Pave or repair streets.
- Operate heavy equipment to relieve a Maintainer III as needed.
