About The Position

Meridell Achievement Center is a 134-bed, seclusion free, psychiatric residential treatment facility located northwest of Austin. Our 60-acre campus is complete with mature oaks, rolling hills, and plenty of walking paths and outdoor spaces. We have 7 unique living units separated by gender, age, and development needs with a swimming pool, gymnasium, sports court and playing fields. We provide 24-hour psychiatric care to girls and boys ages 5 to 17 years old with customized therapeutic approaches and intensive behavioral programs to teach young patients to moderate their behavior, manage emotions and improve social functioning. Your Impact: Our Maintenance Worker reports directly to the Director of Support Services. They will ensure the safe and efficient operation of facility buildings, equipment, and facility grounds through provision of skilled maintenance, repair, and construction duties.

Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent.
A minimum of 1-3 years related maintenance experience.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information.
Demonstrate effective organization.
Effective interpersonal skills and competent clinical skills.
Collaborative, positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

Comply with all Administrative, Clinical, and Human Resources policies and procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
Utilizes carpentry, plumbing, and electrical skills to make repairs to the facility.
Assures necessary maintenance paperwork related to work orders, preventative maintenance items, and purchase orders are completed and returned promptly in accordance with facility expectations.
Work on special projects and assignments.
Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
Possess knowledge of building & facility maintenance safety codes and regulations.
