About The Position

This role is responsible for keeping facilities and equipment operational, and repairing any identified problems. The Maintenance Tech will handle a variety of issues, from housing apartments to HVAC units. The position requires excellent customer service skills and is responsible for the safe upkeep of facilities, including Access houses and admin offices. Duties include handling and working with tools, performing light plumbing, HVAC, appliance repair, carpentry, and light electrical systems. Landscaping and snow removal skills are also required. The role involves completing assigned work orders from start to finish, inspecting buildings, maintaining an inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies, scheduling repairs, and collaborating with the site team. Responsibilities also include snow cleanup and mowing, and operating motorized equipment for snow removal. Additionally, this position will support other departments with building, moving, or transferring office furniture or equipment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in general maintenance and in a maintenance specialty
  • Specialization in one or more trade (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, landscaping, etc.)
  • Understand basic principles when troubleshooting mechanical, electrical or plumbing issues
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance principles
  • Can handle painting and landscaping assignments to the standards of the agency
  • Must possess willingness to improve skill set through informal apprenticeship
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in general maintenance and in a maintenance specialty
  • Must be able to use a telephone and have some computer knowledge

  • Performing snow cleanup in the winter months
  • Mowing grass in the spring and fall
  • Operating motorized equipment such as snow removal or other equipment as trained and assigned
  • Supporting other departments in their requests for building/moving/transferring office furniture or equipment
