Requirements

Proven track record in mainline excavation and pipe utilities.
OSHA Certified Competent Person for trenching and shoring.
A positive, team-oriented mindset with the ability to follow supervisor directions.
Effective communication skills with co-workers and supervisors.
Must pass pre-employment and random drug/alcohol testing (Drug-Free Workplace).

Responsibilities

Excavate line and grade for mainline waterline, sewer, storm drain, and water pipe according to project plans.
Masterfully excavate around existing utilities with high precision.
Understand and execute trench depth, grade compaction, pothole procedures, and pipeline installation.
Act as the OSHA Certified Competent Person for trenching and shoring; implement rigging and shoring practices to ensure a safe environment for all.
Maintain thorough knowledge of equipment maintenance to ensure fleet reliability.
Read plans accurately and keep the crew organized and on task to meet goals and deadlines.
