About The Position
Provide dedicated oversight of mainframe storage operations and coordinate with Ensono to ensure that Db2 storage is available, efficient and appropriately managed. This role involves monitoring storage utilization, capacity thresholds, and storage-group growth, as well as reviewing and managing storage-related alerts and coordinating remediation. The specialist will work directly with Ensono storage teams on capacity additions, configuration issues, and operational concerns, while also supporting Db2 archive, recovery, and storage-related activities. A key part of the role is investigating storage-related incidents, including interactions among Db2, applications, batch processing, and infrastructure. The position also requires participation in capacity planning, recommending corrective actions, and providing z/OS operational support as needed. Collaboration with agency teams to clarify storage ownership, escalation paths, and service expectations is essential, along with assisting with operational documentation, issue tracking, and vendor communications.
Requirements
- Mainframe, Db2, Z/OS
- Intermediate Level experience
- Experience working with a hosted mainframe provider, preferably Ensono.
- Strong communication skills for coordinating among agencies, Ensono and teams.

- z/OS systems operations.
- Storage monitoring and alerting tools, including MegaMon or comparable platforms.
- General knowledge of CICS, batch processing, data sets, volumes and job dependencies.
