About The Position

Seeking a Mainframe IMS Engineer to support enterprise IMS database and transaction processing environments. The role is responsible for system administration, performance tuning, recovery planning, software maintenance, and operational support of critical IMS platforms.

Requirements

• Strong experience with IMS DB and IMS TM.
• Knowledge of IMS Connect, DBRC, DBD, PSB, and ACB.
• Experience with z/OS, JCL, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, JES2, and SMP/E.
• IMS recovery, reorganization, and performance tuning experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and production support skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with IMS Parallel Sysplex Shared Queues.
• Knowledge of DB2, MQ, CICS, and RACF.
• REXX automation experience.
• Disaster recovery testing experience.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support IMS Database and Transaction Manager environments.
• Manage IMS regions, database resources, and subsystem operations.
• Perform software installation, upgrades, maintenance, and configuration activities.
• Support backup, recovery, database reorganization, and disaster recovery testing.
• Monitor system health and optimize IMS performance.
• Troubleshoot production incidents and perform root cause analysis.
• Support integration with DB2, MQ, CICS, RACF, and other mainframe technologies.
• Maintain technical documentation and support change management processes.
