About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Developer with expertise in COBOL/CICS, specifically within the Automotive Finance sector. This role involves providing application development and production support for large-scale mainframe applications. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting and debugging skills for both batch and online systems, experience in optimizing batch processes, and the ability to perform impact analysis across multiple systems. Responsibilities include delivering technical documentation, participating in on-call support, and contributing to the efficiency and stability of critical financial systems.

Requirements

• 12-15 years of experience in COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL, and IBM MQ
• Experience in a mainframe development and production support environment
• Strong troubleshooting/debugging skills for batch and online systems
• Familiarity with unit testing practices
• AS/400, AS400 - Cobol, CL/400

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the Automotive Finance industry
• Exposure to FIS Systematics

Responsibilities

• Provide application development and production support for large-scale mainframe applications
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, including batch and online abends
• Analyze and optimize daily/monthly batch processes to improve efficiency and reduce processing windows
• Perform impact analysis across multiple systems and platforms
• Deliver technical design, development, and estimation documentation
• Participate in on-call support for batch processes during off-hours
