About The Position

The Main Banker/Cashier is responsible for handling large amounts of cash and cash equivalents, performing a wide range of financial transactions, and ensuring accuracy in all paperwork. This role involves balancing the main bank, managing accountability and inventory, and providing excellent guest service. The position requires adherence to all Cage policies and procedures, knowledge of relevant laws and internal controls, and maintaining a professional demeanor. The Main Banker/Cashier will also be responsible for preparing deposits, verifying incoming monies, processing various financial transactions for different departments, and safeguarding casino assets.

Requirements

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or older upon employment
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiple and divide and to perform these operations using units of US currency.
  • Must be able to work in a fast pace, busy and noisy environment.
  • Excellent guest relation skills and an ability to be attentive and anticipate all guest needs.
  • Employment is contingent upon a favorable outcome of a background investigation and drug screening.
  • Must present a well-groomed and professional appearance.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
  • Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees and customers.

  • Must be able to be approved for and maintain a valid gaming license.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for large amounts of cash and cash equivalents.
  • Balance Main bank transactions, balancing the accountability and inventory of the bank.
  • Carry out a wide range of financial transactions and complete all paperwork correctly and legibly.
  • Organize and work in a timely manner.
  • Perform even exchanges to maintain impressments of Casino Cage Cashiers.
  • Accept accountability and verify drops of cash and cash equivalents from the Count Team.
  • Perform Inventory and servicing of Ticket Redemption Units and Automatic Jackpot machines.
  • Perform inventory and servicing of Cigarette Machines.
  • Perform End of Shift Settlements and provide documentation to Finance.
  • Research and document discrepancies with cage management in closing paperwork.
  • Use currency counters, adding machines, and computers to calculate and record transactions.
  • Follow Cage policies and procedures related to currency handling, check cashing, chip handling and internal guest service.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of local jurisdiction and gaming laws (Federal and Tribal) as well as internal controls, policies and procedures.
  • Bring internal guest disputes and unusual guest activities to the attention of the Cage Shift Supervisor.
  • Maintain a consistent and regular attendance record.
  • Promote positive guest relations through prompt, courteous, and efficient guest service.
  • Maintain a professional departmental, company and community reputation.
  • Be responsible for multiple transaction recording and SAR activity.
  • Prepare and verify deposits made to the Casino’s financial institution.
  • Receive and verify incoming monies from the Casino’s financial institution.
  • Verify and document tips received for Casino Cage Cashiers and other assigned department(s).
  • Prepare and verify fills and credits for table games.
  • Issue initial bank, collect revenue and reconcile impress funds from all employees required to maintain a bank.
  • Perform Jackpot Payouts and Hand Pays for the Slot Department.
  • Receive all found cash and cash equivalents.
  • Accept tournament fees, process tournament downs and prepare prize payouts for Poker Tournaments.
  • Provide cash and cash equivalents exchanges for casino guest.
  • Provide tournament chips for daily Poker Tournaments.
  • Be discreet and trustworthy with confidential material.
  • Safeguard Downstream Casino Resort assets at all times.
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicate in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner at all times.
  • Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors and staff.
  • Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
  • Attend all necessary training meetings.
  • Assist in other projects, as directed.
