About The Position

AEXP Express Corporation is seeking a mail delivery driver/mail carrier to serve a United States Postal Service mail route in Placitas, New Mexico. The route starts on 11/18/2026. This is a full-time, 1099 contractor position operating six days per week, Monday through Saturday, including some federal holidays. The estimated schedule is 6:45 a.m. to 6:45 p.m., or 12 hours a day or less. The delivery route is approximately 20 miles per day. The contractor provides their own qualifying vehicle. Compensation is $330 per day, paid monthly.

Requirements

• Have legal documentation to work in the United States.
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Have a valid driver's license.
• Be able to lift 70 pounds.
• Be able to work and safely drive in all types of weather conditions.
• Reside in Placitas, New Mexico, or a neighboring town or city.
• Provide a qualifying vehicle: a minivan or cargo van with at least 120 cubic feet of cargo capacity and less than five years old.
• Carry minimum liability insurance.
• Provide your own vehicle.

Nice To Haves

• Former USPS employees or contractors are highly recommended.
• A minivan or cargo van with at least 120 cubic feet of cargo space and no center console is recommended for passenger-side mailbox delivery; the route may be difficult without this vehicle configuration but is still possible.
• Be available to start immediately.

Responsibilities

• Sort mail and packages in delivery sequence for active mailboxes.
• Load mail and parcels in delivery sequence into a delivery vehicle.
• Deliver mail and packages to customer boxes along an assigned line of travel.
• Dismount when required to deliver parcels, Express Mail, and other accountable mail items.
• Perform other required administrative duties.
